The magic of school trips

Angelika Lonnemann

Some throw toiletpaper out of the windows of the youth hostel and many white stripe flags blow. At illegal midnight parties in the dormitories you learn how to party silently. You do things for the first time in your life. You drive overtired on a bus and laugh until you cry. You always sing the same song. You sleep in a yurt in a damp sleeping bag. That's where you make the first human studies about trust, betrayal and being in love. That's where you talk in a familiar atmosphere with the Class teacher and notice that she is human too.

All teachers who nowadays organize school trips, earn highest recognition. Next to notorious lack of sleep, 24-hour shifts, they not only have to react to the needs of two to three dozen individuals, but also to those of three to six dozen parents. Thanks to all teachers who take it upon themselves and thus shape CVs!
